What to Wear With Blue Dress in Winter
There is definitely a color scheme for winter but that doesn't mean you can't break from the norm every once and awhile and wear your other favorite seasonal hues. It's no secret that I wear tons and tons of blue and white in the spring and summer. The other day, I found myself missing my go-to color combo. So I decided to put together a winter appropriate (for Charleston) blue and white outfit. Keep reading as I share how to wear blue and white in the winter!

How to Wear Blue and White in the Winter
When you think about a traditional winter wardrobe, you probably think of a lot of black and other dark or neutral colors like gray, navy, ivory, cream, camel, and chocolate. We generally associate bright colors, pastels, and blue and white with spring or summer. I think there is no need to limit ourselves within traditional winter color palettes. Which is why I decided to break with convention and share how to wear blue and white in the winter. In fact, there are multiple ways to wear blue and white or bright/pastel colors in the winter without looking inappropriate for the season.
The trick to wearing colors in the winter outside of the conventional dark and neutral tones is to pick one or two non-traditional colors or colored items and then style neutral pieces with them to complete your look. Example: my blue and white dress (two non-traditional colors) paired with my dark/neutral accessories (tan belt, brown booties, and navy clutch). It's as easy as that!
A bit more about my outfit…
In Charleston, I think this is definitely a year round outfit. I might switch up my footwear but, in general, I'd wear this outfit any season. I also would wear this in California or Arizona, two places I used to live. My dress is from my favorite Charleston clothing boutique, Hampden, as is my amazing wide statement belt (you may remember Hampden from this post). Remember when skinny waist belts were all the range? No more! Now the wide belt has taken a hold of the belt game. I found y'all two similar wide statement belts for less here and here and rounded up a few similar blue and white dresses below as mine is sadly sold out.
Are you in need of the perfect gift for your mom, sister, or best friend?
I can't recommend this clutch/crossbody enough. The purse has a beautiful chain link strap that can be worn with or without the purse so you can style it as a clutch or as a crossbody bag (as seen in this post!). The purse comes in 5 colors and can be monogrammed. I love gifts that can be personalized, which is why I think this is one of the most perfect gifts of the season! I also love these two similar purses: one, two.
Last but not least, my booties! They are from one of my favorite retailers for shoes (and everything really!), Sézane. You last saw these booties in this post from The Pitcher Inn in Vermont. As you can see, they are super versatile and can we worn with everything from jeans to dresses.
